# Data freshness

> The period each dataset describes, when Cadastre last refreshed it and when it next checks the publisher.

Each dataset's **period** is what its values describe; **last refreshed** is when Cadastre last imported it successfully (UTC). A refresh can bring revised figures for the same period, and a publisher's new release moves the period.

The **refresh cadence** is how often Cadastre checks the publisher for a new release, set from the publisher's own calendar. **Next check** is when that happens (UTC). A check asks the publisher whether anything changed since the last import, and Cadastre imports again only when it did. A check that is more than two days late is marked overdue.
