OpenStreetMap extract of 2026-10-16
Some map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL 1.0). The transmission-line layer we show is derived from OpenStreetMap; we offer that derived dataset below under the same licence.

The file contains only OpenStreetMap-derived data. No data from any other source is mixed into it, and the corridor-mile and other measures we compute are not part of it.
What it is
One GeoPackage layer of the transmission lines mapped in OpenStreetMap in the United States, one feature per way, with OpenStreetMap’s own attributes: the way’s id, voltage, operator, owner, circuits, cables, frequency, name, reference, start date, last-edit time and version.
How we filtered it
- Ways tagged
power=line. Busbars, bays and the other wiring inside a substation are left out. - Ways tagged as under construction, proposed, disused, abandoned or razed are left out, so every line is mapped as in service.
- Ways of every voltage are kept. The voltage is the largest value listed in the voltage tag, in kV. A way with no usable voltage has none. The map shows only lines of 115 kV or more.
